Powerflex knows a thing or two about flexibility, but hats off to the VAG who take that concept to another level...
Their first-generation modular MQB chassis underpinned over a dozen vehicles across four manufacturers, setting a new standard for efficient platform and parts sharing.
While many MQB chassised vehicles use a simple pressed steel front subframe, some premium/performance models use a cast aluminium subframe instead, such as:
However, even though, in most cases, these cars use the same front wishbone as those with a steel subframe, a difference in shape and mounting method has meant that our PFF85-802 bush is unsuitable.
PFF3-1302 Front Wishbone Rear Bush has been designed to bridge this gap.
Made from their Black 95A polyurethane, this new bush has been engineered to provide additional upper and lower support, taking into account the thinner mounting position on the cast subframe.
It features an in-house CNC-machined steel outer shell to ensure a precise fit for the bush into the bore of the pressed-steel arm, and a stainless-steel sleeve and mild-steel washers to provide a more secure mounting point of the wishbone in the subframe while allowing articulation via its tapered bore.
This part is for road use only. For track or motorsport applications, or those that require on-car caster adjustment, please use PFF3-902G Front Wishbone Rear Bush.
As with all of our replacement bushes, this new offering is supported by Powerflex's Lifetime Warranty for peace of mind.
